The project is built around three main phases, each representing a journey of discovery, connection, and storytelling across Portsmouth and beyond.
The project also features contributions from international and local artists, schools, and community groups, reflecting Portsmouth's diverse cultural landscape.
In the lead-up to our main events, we are bringing people together through creative workshops, community storytelling, and artist residencies. These sessions are designed to gather personal stories, build local engagement, and prepare for the larger installations. Local artists and international collaborators work side by side with participants, exploring themes of migration, belonging, and community through hands-on creative experiences.
Whether you are attending a Refugee Week workshop or performance, experiencing our VR storytelling, or stepping inside A Sea of Words, your involvement helps build a community where stories are heard, connections are made, and understanding is deepened.
